I have decided to try writing a few lines about each parsha – פָּרָשָׁה. I guess, we shall see where it takes me. Of course, I am not making any promises – so bli neder. Again, this is not poetry, just words coming out to offer my view on things.
Here we are in the week of the first parsha of the year – Parashat Bereshit / בראשית
This is when it all started:
Wind and chaos
Darkness overload
“Let there be light”, He says.
But who is going to see it?
Finally, when the first person was created, he does not merit the usual “it was good” statement. The whole project “was very good”, but nothing is said about the human being.
A teacher of mine, Alex Israel asks in his commentary on the parsha:
-
In other words “It was Good” = It was complete.
-
So … is man “complete?
You said the trees were good, the animals too
The sun was good and the moon
The human was not. Is that why we are so flawed?
Reblogged this on Noshing Across the Nation and commented:
Decided to re-blog this with the addition of my favorite video series on Torah from Partners-in-Torah
