This week I merited to attend two brit milah ceremonies. Two new baby boys came into this world. Every time a child is born, we witness a miracle. Don’t tell me that it’s a natural thing. Of course, it is! However, anything can go wrong. But we hope, we pray. And – miracle of miracles here he is – tiny, perfect and precious.
A new baby boy was born to my nephew. It was such a joy to see how much the parents are in love, how there eyes are sparking, when they look at the tiny bundle. May they share a long and happy life together, and may Noah Haim grow up L’Torah L’Chupa U’Lmaasim Tovim! It is fitting that tonight’s portion of the Torah talks about gratitude to G-d for his kindness: It says ” וְאָכַלְתָּ, וְשָׂבָעְתָּ–וּבֵרַכְתָּ אֶת-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ, עַל-הָאָרֶץ הַטֹּבָה אֲשֶׁר נָתַן-לָךְ.” “And thou shalt eat and be satisfied, and bless the LORD thy God for the good land which He hath given thee.” (Deuteronomy 8:10) How much more we should thank Gd for the little piece of happiness that is always to be closest to our hearts. I am a mother, so I should know.
MAZAL TOV!!
