Today is the birthday of one woman whom I am blessed to call family, even though she is not a blood relation.

I’ve met my (then future) sister-in-law almost 35 years ago, and since then through good times and bad, every day I realize more and more what an exceptional human being she is. She is smart and funny. But there is much more to that.

Long time ago my husband z’l told me : “she is a good daughter, a good wife and a good mother”, and that’s what she is  – a Good person, plus ” a good mother-in-law and grandmother” now. Isn’t that the essence of a person – to be a really good person. How many of us can claim that we really are good?

Life didn’t deal too kindly with both of us, but she is cheerful, caring, loving to everyone she knows despite her mood, hardships and losses.

She routinely hosts a full house of guests for holidays, happenings, and just because. Everyone feels welcome in her house, everyone at ease.

I could write forever about her, but today, I just want to say “Happy Birthday!” Among the blessings in my life, you occupy a prominent place.
