Noshing Across the Nation

Children, Israel, Food, Torah – things I love and talk about often!

February 27

Today is the day I remember a woman that was born just 55 years ago.

A woman who may not have been the prettiest one on earth, the smartest one on earth, but was certainly all this to me. A woman that is remembered by everyone who met her even accidentally 20 years since her brutal departure from this world. A Woman like no other.

This woman held the admiring gaze of many men in the palm of her hand. This woman could say just one sentence to you, and you thought that this was the ultimate truth of the world.

This woman just saw two of her three daughters start to blossom as young women and never got to see a beauty her baby has grown into. This woman has two amazing granddaughters she never got to meet.

I know that I have to find forgiveness in my heart. But not to this. I will never forgive the beast that ordered her murder.

כל מי שנעשה רחמן במקום אכזרי
סוף שנעשה אכזרי במקום רחמן
All who are made to be compassionate in the place of the cruel
In the end, are made to be cruel in the place of the compassionate
Kohelet Raba 7:16
In my mind I know I should let it go
There’s no peace for the beast himself
Yet I see him begging for a way out

This Woman Was My Sister.
