It has been just a few days since I have returned from Israel, but my heart is yearning for it again. So, this post will just show the eateries and foods of Israel that I love. These amazing breads we just stumbled upon at the Old Train Station in Tel-Aviv. We tried these beauties, and they were simply delicious! Warm, with cheese, goat cheese, Parmesan, spinach, and za’atar, they were our first street-food samples during this unusually cold trip.
We spent Shabbat in Tiberias, one of the four sacred cities of Israel, the place where one can just chance upon a grave of the greatest tzadik of his time! I can’t show pictures of the amazing Abulafia Synagogue since we were there for a Shabbat mincha, but one thing I can tell you – the reverence for Torah there is unparalleled. You really can feel the holiness of the assembly. I am truly blessed to have been able to experience this.
Back to food we went after the day was over, to the small and cute Basel Restaurant just for some dessert. And what a dessert is was!
Beautifully done creation resembling the Pavlova meringue with white chocolate cream. And I LOVE meringue! A great ending to a Shabbat in the holy city!
Surely, once we got to Jerusalem, we headed to our favorite Kadosh cafe on Shlomzion ha-malkah street. The best location ever, and the food… I have posted a review on Trip Advisor , so not going to add all the pictures here. Just trust me on this – go, you won’t be disappointed!
And, of course, I can’t leave you without my trip to Machane Yehuda Shuk pictures. This is a place I go every time right before leaving Israel. Food is what I bring home, especially kosher sweets and cheeses that you cannot get here in the States, even in Brooklyn, where once can see an abundance of kosher food. Please enjoy!
